Take Time to Feed your Mind

Hello Monavie Family,
Thank you for all your support and positive words, I do feel privilaged to have such an amazing group of leaders involved in this incredible opportunity.   Please share this with the people you care about or have brought into this business.

One suggestion I have is to feed your mind regularly, and apply the knowledge you read or listen to.    Turn off the TV for a few hours per week or the Radio in your car and use this time to grow with audio CD's.   

Attend a conference and invest in your business and yourself, and be surrounded by like minded people, gain tips and knowledge from people whom have walked in your shoes, and done what you aspire to do, find a mentor that relates to you and talk to them regularly.   I realized that I want to be a Black Diamond when I started so I started following the most successful Black Diamonds, and build friendships with them and communicate regularly with them.    

If you haven't registered for the Monavie 2.0 events in Dallas or Vancouver, do it...I gaurantee it will be a defining moment in your business.    I just confirmed my flight to Vancouver and I can't wait to attend and look forward to sharing the time with all the leaders attending with me.       Take a read of this book (free), I read it in 2 hours and cannot say enough about it, and is a must read for everyone "The Greatest Networker in the World"   (click the link)

I have also been listening to alot of Jim Rohn over the last couple of weeks.   Jim is know as one of the great wordsmiths of our time, and listening to him has help me tremendously with my business, and allowed me to modify my approach with people and amplified my success.    We all have things we need to improve in our lives, as we are all products of our past however we do not need to be a prisner to it.    If your willing to put in time developing yourself, your confidence will change and people will be more willing to listen to what you have to say....this also has a residual effect on the other components of your lives (Health, Family, Relationships, Emotions, and Finances).  

If you are a part of my Monavie team or thinking about it, we are all independant business owners with an unique interdependancy, and part of our journey is the level of committment we put forward to developing the skills we need to break free.  I teach people to Read, Listen, Participate and communicate with your team as this will create confidence and momentum to achieve your goals.    Remember your organizations success depends on you, and what you do, as this is a relationship business and people build the business.    Don't get in a hurry, Don't be greedy, Don't panic, and Choose wisely.     Invest in the people you bring into the business, and don't make it just about you, make it bigger than yourself.   When you teach people to teach people, you move from creating results to empowering others.

Something to think about, answer these questions truthfully to yourself.
  • What are 10 reasons I should be greatful for today?
  • Do I know what my big why is?   Do I review it daily?
  • Have I repeated my affirmations at least twice a day?
  • Should my actions of the day applaud me or prod me?
  • Did I start this day with a map, game plan and goals?
  • Did my words and actions allow others to see how much I value them?
  • How can I grow from what I learned today?
  • What can I do better tomorrow and in the future?
  • Was I focused on helping others succeed and grow?

New Time Management - Make Time to Exercise

Treat your workouts like meetings.    Lets say you want to work out four days a week at 8 am.     If these were client breakfasts, you wouldn't cancel them.   Put the workouts in your schedule, and be relious about doing them. 

Don't cheat.   If your working with a trainer and the weight is too light, you're not getting away with anything by not telling him to push you harder.   Exercising is like anything else, do it 100% or don't do it all.

Become a Pugilist.   There is no better cardio than Boxing or Kickboxing.    When I need to drop some pounds, or let out some aggression I add a few sessions to my workout schedule.

Maximize weekends.   In addition to five workouts durring the workweek, dedicate a couple hours on Saturday or Sunday to running and lifting.   If your stressed its a great mental vacation.     There is always is an hour in the day to work out, if your committed to your career, family or both be just as prudent to your physical fitness.       Its all about discipline and focus.

Every passing year brings more reason for the mature man to pick up a barbell.   Indulge me for a moment by flexing your right arm.   Assuming that you have an average build and trust me, you do - your arm is packing about 5 pounds of muscle.   It represents nearly 10 percent of the total muscle on your body.

Now, imagine that muscle gone.  No biceps, no triceps - only a jiggly mass of skin and fat covering your bones from your shoulder down to your fingertips.   That five pounds of muscle is about the same amount most men lose between the ages of 24 and 50.   And that number doubles by the time they're 60.   In fact, once a man passes the half-century mark, he can expect to lose 1 percent of his muscle each year for the rest of his life.    That is, unless he does something about it.

And there is good reason for intervention;  The natural erosion of muscle and strength that comes with aging leads directly to weak bones, stiff joints, and a slumped posture, and increases your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and a host of other maladies.   But there is not reason you can't maintain a healthy, strong musculature well into your nineties if you use man's most effective anti - aging weapon:   Resistance Training.
A 20 Min Total Body Workout - Use this this time efficent plan for a longer, healthier stronger life.
  • Quad Dominant - Lower Body, Quadriceps work hardest - Squats, Lunge, Split Squats
  • Hip Dominant - Lower Body, Hamstrings & Glutes work hardest - Dead Lifts, Back Extensions
  • Horizontal Press - Upper Body pushing wieght away from body  - Dumbell Bench Press, Push up, Dips
  • Horizontal Pull - Upper Body pulling weight towards your body - Barbell Row, Inverted Rows, Seated Rows
  • Vertical Press - Upper Body pressing weight upwards - Shoulder Press, Pike Push up
  • Vertical Pull - Upper Body pulling weight downward - Lat Pull Downs, Chin up and Pull up

Do this twice a week in this order.   In the first workout do 4 - 6 reps and second workout 10 - 12 reps, as this will train your muscles for both strength and endurance.    Do the lower body movements as straight sets before moving on to Hip movements.    Rest for 60 seconds between sets.      Always rest at least a day or two between workouts.  Every 4 weeks, choose a new exercise from each movement category.
